Produced by Boney Kapoor crime-thriller Mom, that stars Sridevi and Akshaye Khanna, had released in China on May 10, 2019. The film was very well received in China and 3 weeks later it is continuing its magical spell at the Chinese box office. In fact, it has become one of the highest grossing Indian films in China, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark in the country.

Mom has beaten top Indian films like Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Akshay Kumar’s Toilet - Ek Prem Katha and Pad Man, Salman Khan’s Sultan, Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan and several other Hindi releases to become the 8th Indian film ever to cross $15 million mark.



According to the latest reports from China, the film earned had $9.6 million in its first and 4.56 million $ in the second week in China. The film did extremely well on weekdays which indicate that it has found its audiences and has developed a cult for itself.

As per the current trends, the film has managed close to 16 million in China after the three weeks of its release, the total collection of the film now stands around ₹111 crores. The film is showing very strong hold at China box-office and drops are minuscule. It will be interesting to see how the film fares in its fourth week. The Mayan rating for the movie is 9.3, which is phenomenal.

The film is said to be close to Boney’s heart as it marked Sridevi's 300th movie in Bollywood. What made this film all the more important was that it was her last release before her tragic death. The film is directed by Ravi Udyawar, showed Sridevi as a mother who sets out to seek vengeance for the gang rape of her stepdaughter. Sridevi also won a national award posthumously for this film.
